Vintage Art Deco Fruit Bowl by Christian Fjerdingstad for Christofle Gallia

This vintage Art Deco fruit bowl was designed for Christofle Gallia by a Danish silversmith named Christian Fjerdingstad. He was hired by Christofle as a head designer in 1924. He is regarded to be a key designer that contributed to the revival of early twentieth-century silverware. Christofle is a prestigious French flatware and silverware company. The Christofle company debuted a new type of plate named 'Gallia metal' in 1900, during the Paris Exposition Universelle.
